Our scientific planning has started. A call for themes has been issued early January
As in previous years, the program of the EBF OS will naturally address many of the familiar scientific and regulatory challenges that define our day-to-day work in bioanalysis, i.e. the “usual suspects” science and strategies related to NCE/NBE, immunogenicity, biomarkers, context of use, automation, new modalities, IVDR, and the increasing role of data-driven approaches, including artificial intelligence.
At the same time, the 19th EBF OS deliberately aims to look beyond what is already well rehearsed. In the spirit of Paracelsus, who questioned accepted truths and exposed the blind spots of his time, we invite the community to help us identify where current practices may be limiting, where assumptions go unchallenged, and where emerging scientific, technological, or regulatory developments deserve earlier or deeper attention.
We are particularly interested in themes that challenge established thinking, reveal tensions between innovation and regulation, or highlight areas where bioanalysis risks becoming reactive rather than leading.
To actively involve you in shaping the scientific direction of the 19th EBF OS, we will again use a two-tier approach to abstract submission.
Tier 1 – Call for Themes Â
This initial step invites you to share themes, questions, or challenges that you believe deserve attention at the symposium. These may relate to familiar areas of bioanalysis, but we particularly encourage input that highlights blind spots, emerging tensions, or underexplored topics. Please respond directly to open@e-b-f.eu before 20 February 2026.
Tier 2 – Call for Abstracts :
The formal Call for Abstracts, incorporating the themes identified through Tier 1, is planned for mid-March.
Abstract submission will close around the third week of August.
