INTRODUCTION & AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
Artificial intelligence (AI) has entered the analytical laboratory, offering real opportunities to reduce manual burden, strengthen consistency, and enhance scientific decision-making. The BioA community at large increasingly seeks clarity on how AI can be used responsibly within the expectations of ICH M10, ADA guidelines, GxP principles, data-integrity requirements, and of course within responsible use of resources and patient safety.
As AI develops at extraordinary speed, it is essential that Bioanalysts and the BioA function stay firmly in the driver’s seat, ensuring that technology supports scientific judgment rather than leading it. We aim to explore how AI can support scientific judgment rather than replace it, and how to prevent drifting toward automated over-interpretation of guidelines, prescriptive SOP generation, or tool-driven decision-making. Contributions should therefore demonstrate how AI strengthens the scientific core of BioA, reinforces context-of-use, and avoids turning analysts into passengers of technology.
The Agenda will be built considering submitted abstracts and case studies discussed within the EBF AI-team – to submit an abstract, go to the tab “submit an abstract”
