Like last years, the 2026 meeting will run as a full 3-day event, from Tuesday 17 November (09:00 start) to Thursday 19 November (18:00 adjourn).
This format replaces the traditional 2.5-day format starting on Wednesday and ending Friday around noon forcing many to rush to the airport. The change is intended to allow for better balance across parallel sessions and provide more flexibility for return travel on Friday.

A call for sponsors was issued early december 2025. We want to inform you that all available sponsor slots are booked. We currently have a waiting list.
You can send an e-mail to sponsors@e-b-f.eu if you want to go on that waiting list for sponsoring.
Sponsors have been accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Venue & travel
The 19th EBF Open Symposium will be held at the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower, Barcelona – Spain, Gran Via 144, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat – 08907 Barcelona, Spain
From Barcelona El Prat Airport (T1 or T2), the hotel is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride (ask for Hesperia Tower).
Alternatively, you can take bus 46 from outside either terminal. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes. Get off at Hospital de Bellvitge, which is a 2-min walk from the hotel. Tickets can be purchased by card on board.
Hotel accommodation
All rooms at the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower have now been fully booked.
Delegates who still require accommodation are kindly requested to arrange their own hotel reservation. The conference venue is conveniently connected to Barcelona city centre via the L1 Metro line, where numerous hotel options are available.
Please note that hotel reservations are independent of the EBF and should be made directly with the hotel of your choice.

Registration fee for the full 3-day meeting = 1095 Euro and includes lunches/coffee breaks and cocktail reception (excl. lodging).
Academic delegates

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation needs to be done 14 days before the meeting start date.
Payment of the full conference fee will be required if cancelled after that date or on “no-show”.
Small Print
There will be no early-bird rate nor 1-day passes.
Registration passes are personal and cannot be shared. Any name change for the full registration is possible but needs to be communicated to admin@e-b-f.eu with original and new name before November 15th, 2026.
Web-Registration closes on November 9th, 2026, or when the maximum capacity of the meeting is reached (600 delegates). Registration after the deadline of November 10th will need to be approved by the EBF (mail to admin@e-b-f.eu) and involves payment on site (at increased rate of 1200 Euro)
The registration fee is waived the first two accepted podium presentations/company. Additional accepted podium presentations company will need to register. In case you would have already registered and paid prior to acceptance of your abstract, EBF will automatically refund the registration fee.

Ghent is a vibrant university city in Flanders, Belgium, known for its welcoming atmosphere, rich history, and lively cultural scene. Its compact size, friendly spirit, and mix of innovation and tradition make it an ideal setting for this year’s Young Scientist Symposium.
From Brussels-Zaventem airport, Ghent can be reached directly by train in about one hour. From France, the Netherlands, Germany, or even the UK, the city is easily accessible by train or car. The NH Gent Belfort Hotel, located in the heart of the city next to the Town Hall and the Cathedral, will host the meeting and accommodation.
When registering for the meeting (tab Registration), you can include your hotel booking at NH Belfort (depending on your travel schedule, 2, 3 or 4 nights).
If you prefer to arrange your own accommodation elsewhere in Ghent, please register for the meeting only.
